Nancy's Non-Fiction
Under the name Nancy C. Baker, Nancy has written six non-fiction books, including the award-winning RELATIVE RISK: Living With a Family History of Breast Cancer; THE BEAUTY TRAP: Exploring Woman's Greatest Obsession; CASHING IN ON COOKING: A Guide to Profiting from Your Own Creative Cookery; NEW LIVES FOR FORMER WIVES: Displaced Homemakers; ACT II: The Mid-Career Job Change and How to Make It; and BABYSELLING: The Scandal of Black Market Adoption.
Nancy has also written articles for many national publications, including Good Housekeeping, Glamour, Mademoiselle, Working Woman, the Los Angeles Times, the Christian Science Monitor, Working Mother, Cosmopolitan, and numerous others.
In an effort to help others interested in non-fiction writing, Nancy taught courses at California State University, Northridge, for 15 years before moving north to live on California's Central Coast. Among the courses she most enjoyed teaching were Article Writing, Magazine Journalism, Writing the Non-Fiction Book, and Women and the Media.
